The Pact with the Devil
Nobody is in league with the devil the way the media is. It is in fact possessed by the devil himself or better it is the devil in disguise. The moment there is a natural, human catastrophe or a terrorist act the media hurries to the spot to capitalize on it disregarding ethics and even taking the risk of endangering the precious life of its reporters just because it finds itself facing a ferocious market competition with other fellow brothers and sisters.

Just imagine the head terrorist Bin Laden starts a series of terrorist attacks and as a result hundreds of thousands of innocent people are killed somewhere in a metropolitan city. Now go the next day to the next bookshop in your area. What do you see? Hundreds of books and magazines on Islam and Quran and the Middle East problems displayed very attractively (surrounded by flowers) at the best place the bookshop can afford. However, this odd behavior on the part of the media is nothing but a marketing strategy to feed the public with the food they so badly deserve.

I wonder why the media, the publishing houses and the bookshops don’t cooperate with the terrorists to make common cause and boost sales this (legitimate) way. They could even cooperate with environmentalists to bring about chemical catastrophes and share the profit. The German Green Party’s unprecedented success in the latest elections in the German state of Baden-Württemberg overtaking even its big sister in arms SPD was indeed a landslide but it capitalized on the Japan nuclear catastrophe. This piece of advice costs precious little but can help the media to stay in the black for ever.
