All languages depend on patterns to organise linguistic resources to help the memory and to provide a system for generating either new patterns or coining vocabulöary according to the patterns it already has. Some patterns are more productive than others. This means they have a much higher frequency.

Arabic in particular is heavily dependent on vowel and consonant patterns which make a writing system of pure consonants possible. Thus Arabic script is like a shorthand script, fast, economical both in energy and space

The plural formation which begins from three since one is singular and two is dual surprisingly follows some interesting patterns.

1. Externa formation limited mostly to persons:

-aat is the most reliable pattern with a few additions in some words like ?umm (mother), Fataat (young lady), ?ucht (sister).

-uun (nominative) / iyn (accusative/genitive) for some masculine nouns

2. Internal formation
